1. The CA Supreme Court didn't overturn Prop 8
2. Adam Lambert didn't win American Idol.
Oh, well. Here's a TV Guide interview with Adam. I still think he was the best and actually had a personality--unlike Kris Allen.

I'm Leavin' On A Jet Plane
I've been pretty quiet about it, but I'm leaving tomorrow for Paris and Madrid for about 10 days. I might post here a little bit, but I'm mostly going to share photos on the run at EuroTodd.
Have fun, don't tear the place up while I'm gone, and I'll be back after Memorial Day.
If you're in the area and see sipping some café or eating a baguette, be sure to say hi.

I'm a bad conservationist
Because when I watch this video, I can only think, "Wow, William's voice is sexy."
Save the frogs.

Spam Subject of the Week
From jerusalemya@teknikpartsgruppen.com: "If you were born in Los Angles, you better have a huge tool."
Now what does this say about our brothers and sisters in Los Angeles? Overcompensating? Weak egos? Inter-racial competition? Lack of surgeons who can perform vaginal rejuvenation procedures? Poor spelling skills?
I pity them.

Ira Glass & This American Life rules

Rand, Renee and I went to see a "live" filmed episode of one of our favorite public radio programs tonight. Imagine us and a couple hundred over-educated, ultra-liberal San Francisco public radio fanatics sitting in a dark theater and drooling over the geeky brilliance of Ira Glass and his guests. It was glorious.
If you're not a fan, then I can't even stand to look at you right now. Go to www.thisamericanlife.org and beg for forgiveness. Ira's polite; he'll pardon you.
Go. Now.

Faces Wild is my new favorite iPhone app
Imagine you're on the boardwalk and you come across the old cutouts where you can put your face in the holes and transform yourself into the muscle man or the lion tamer. Faces Wild does the same thing but with many more options and the instant fun of the iPhone.
So far, I've metamorphosed into a gnome, a chick in a bikini, a mime, and an Olympic swimmer. Check out the app and you, too, can be all that you can be--and more.
Do it or I'll get you! And your little dog too!!

Another Reason Why Independent Bookstores Rock: Powell's

Customers at Powell's Books, Portland, Ore., who spend at least $30 between 3 and 6 p.m. any weekday through May 29--or until supplies last--receive a Powell's pint glass and a coupon for either a $1.25 beer or a 25-cent soda at Bridgeport Brewing. The pint glasses, which come in blue, green, red and pink with Powell's logo on them, can also be bought for $4 each. On the other side of the glass is the saying, "The NW's Mightiest Bookstore!"
Get thee to Powell's and get me one of these glasses!!
